Responsibilities

**Location of Onsite: Candidates who are currently based in Austin or are willing to relocate to the area. Candidates will be required to appear in person for the tests and interviews.**

 

Performs highly advanced testing and analysis of client production systems and applications. Responsible for the development, validation, execution and documentation of test plans and test scripts, including unit testing, comparison testing, regression testing, integration testing, and performance testing. Works closely with Business Analysts, Production Control and Operations, and Development throughout the design and execution of test plans. Works under the general supervision of the Quality Assurance Manager of Information Systems with moderate latitude for use of initiative and independent judgment.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Develops detailed test plans for complex computer applications.
  • Reviews user requirements and works to resolve discrepancies and clarify processes.
  • Writes and edits detailed test cases based on business user requirements and functional specifications.
  • Employs automated testing tools to perform functionality testing, including, functional, regression, and system tests to ensure that product is working as expected.
  • Mentors other team members on use of automated functionality testing tools
  • Assists in conducting and coordinating all phases of testing.
  • Assists functional users involved in User Acceptance Testing and helps verify test results.
  • Documents expected and actual test results and records bugs using an automated bug-tracking tool.
  • Identifies issues as a result of testing and coordinates resolution.
  • Documents test status, outcomes and metrics.
  • Assists with coordination and verification of various levels of sign-off.
  • Attends work regularly in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies.
  • Complies with all applicable agency policies and procedures, including safety and standards of conduct.
  • Performs on-call or scheduled after hours work as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the manager of Quality Control. 

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attends meetings and calls regularly and punctually.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of the quality assurance process and techniques over the full software lifecycle.
  • Must be proficient in the use of automated functionality testing tools.
  • Ability to perform testing in a large, highly integrated system.
  • Must possess sound analysis and documentation skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills to work with all aspects of the IT organization as well as functional users and management.
  • Must be capable of attaining and sustaining the cooperation of other personnel within the agency.

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university. Each year of related experience over the required may be substituted for one year (30 semester hours) of required college credit

Experience in progressively demanding quality assurance processes and techniques over the full software lifecycle: implementing, upgrading and maintaining.

Experience testing PeopleSoft Pension, Benefits Administration and Financials

Experience testing SharePoint /K2

4

Experience testing .NET

Experience in functionality testing using HP Quick Test Professional (QTP) / Unified Functional Testing (UFT) tool.

Experience in using SQL to create queries

 

Proficient in the use of VB Script

 

Experience with Microsoft Office products.

 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
