Responsibilities

**Location of job: Hybrid- 2-4 weeks in Huntsville, TX for training, and then remote in Austin, TX. Candidate must be located in local Austin, TX area**

 

This position will be used for the Agency’s major project, CITS (Corrections Information Technology System) and will help establish the data governance process for CITS and the Agency.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team to understand the current data environment and define the long-term enterprise data strategy, roadmap for data management and governance program.
  • Plan and lead discovery sessions with various stakeholders across the organization to understand the current data environment.
  • Own the documentation of the current state, data strategy for data management and governance program.
  • Define the data governance standards and policies, data governance structure and facilitate to implement the same across the Agency.
  • Define Data Stewardship activities, standards for metadata.
  • Define the process for data access and data security standards with appropriate controls.
  • Define the Data Quality program goals, approach and implementation strategy; Execute the same across the business units.
  • Engage with the executive team to define the data strategy that aligns with the organizational vision and goals.
  • Engage with all levels of stakeholders across the organization to bring awareness to the data initiatives and drive the adoption.
  • Evaluate tools for data governance and data quality, driving the adoption of the selected tool across the organization.
  • Work with team to map fields from legacy to CITS.
  • Aid in transfer of data with Service Bus as needed.
  • Provide data management across all data management verticals, including data governance, data architecture, data quality, master data management, data integration, data warehouse and analytics for the CITS project.
  • Create a Data analytics environment, creating reports, dashboards and predictive analytics.
