    Allied Consultants, Inc. is an Austin-based firm which has for 25 years been a premier provider of technical and business professionals to clients in Texas. We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager II / Test Manager to be a key resource on a technical services team.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate the planning and scheduling of IT projects at various levels of completion.
    • Ability to monitor the progress and schedule of application development projects
    • Ability to communicate with project stakeholders, sponsors, management, business area Subject Matter Experts, end users, technical staff and other relevant parties.
    • Ability to use accepted project management methodologies.
    • Ability to develop project schedules, work plans, resources requirements.
    • Ability to monitors and manages project quality to ensure project deliverables are acceptable and fulfill the terms of the project specifications.
    • Ability to identifies potential project risks and difficulties and to design strategies to mitigate or avoid them.
    • Ability to compile and distribute project information and project status reports to the project team.
    • Ability to plan, assign, and monitor project tasks.
    • Communicate and work with people of all technical levels in a team environment.
    • Ability to schedule and facilitate Joint Applications Developer (JAD) sessions and sponsor’s meetings.
    • Ability to quickly adapt and communicate using agency and business area terminology and acronyms.
    • Ability to read use cases, requirements specifications, design specifications and test web applications and report issues.
    • Ability to understand the project full functionality, write test plans, test scenarios and test cases
    • Ability to perform complex functional, application, regression and performance testing
    • Ability to adopt to the client culture and project framework developed based on the State of Texas (Department of Information Resources) framework.

    Managing the design and development of complex web based application systems through all phases of the software development life cycle.

    Creating project plans and resource loading charts, monitoring the project against these plans and addressing changes in scope or timing.

    Leading requirements definition, prioritization of requirements and obtaining acceptance and consensus of functionality to be included within an application.

    Leading testing of web-based application systems.

    Coordinating the move of applications into production.

     

    Creating and providing reports to all levels of personnel from executive management to project team members.

     

    Knowledge of project management theories and practices applicable to projects that are complex in scope.

     

    Project management monitoring in addressing changes in scope or timing, and applicable software such as Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio.

     

     

    Facilitating meetings involving management, sponsors, business area staff and, technical and non-technical staff.

     

     

    Identifying project risks, gaps, reporting bugs and verifying them on resolution.

     

    Knowledge of the limitations and capabilities of computer system and their integration with end user business processes.
