Allied Consultants, Inc. is an Austin-based firm which has for 25 years been a premier provider of technical and business professionals to clients in Texas. We are currently seeking an experienced Security Administrator  to be a key resource on a technical services team.

Responsibilities

  • Keep abreast of developments, regulation, rules and standards associated with the NERC Reliability Standards.
  • With limited supervision, perform all procedures necessary to ensure the security of information system assets.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and provide analysis.
  • Interface with various business units to understand their security needs and implement procedures to accommodate them.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and application representatives on security issues.
  • Develop and implement standards and procedures for vulnerability assessments and configuration hardening assessments.
  • Maintain follow-up process for system deficiencies and vulnerability assessment failures.
  • Contact vendors regarding service issues to receive support information or assistance as instructed by the Security Manager or Lead Security Team Members.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation on the assigned systems.
  • Identify and communicate issues regarding the effectiveness of data security and develop options and recommendations for the adoption of new policies and procedures.
  • Produce required department reporting associated with projects and problems assigned.
  • With minimal supervision, execute priorities, understand business application, answer technical questions and perform all assigned tasks.
  • Serve as a resource to the security team for assigned service delivery and vulnerability assessment initiatives.
  • Maintain and demonstrate good teamwork on assigned projects through actions and job performance.
  • Provide effective Customer Service by being courteous, polite and friendly toward others at all times.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Security Manager.

  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience
