Allied Consultants, Inc. is an Austin-based firm which has for 25 years been a premier provider of technical and business professionals to clients in Texas. We are currently seeking an experienced Network Engineer to be a key resource on a technical services team.

Responsibilities

Contract position augmenting the client network staff with daily and project related activities. Looking for well-rounded Network Engineers with experience working with small and mid-sized businesses. A diverse technical skill set is key along with stellar client service skills, excellent written/verbal communication skills and great attention to detail. Daily duties will be centered around the network ticket queues including processing new server builds, network decommission tasks and resolving end user trouble tickets. Based upon skillset other tasks will include installation, configuration, documentation, and performance monitoring of the client network infrastructure as required.

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Network documentation including updating policy and Visio documents.
  • Process network trouble tickets in Jira and Remedy.
  • Process network decommission requests utilizing the defined process.
  • Manage the server build queue assigning IPs and providing subnet information.
  • Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switch administration.
  • Palo Alto firewall administration.
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

Qualifications and Work Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in network administration including progressively responsible job duties. Candidate must demonstrate a proven track record of providing an immediate positive impact during previous contract engagements.

 

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) required at a minimum. CCNP preferred
  • Palo Alto Certifications a plus
  • Cisco switching hardware to include Nexus, Catalyst 3700 and 6500 series platforms
  • Experience with Cisco fabric path, VPC and VRF technologies
  • Palo Alto and Cisco ASA firewall platforms
  • Routing protocols to include EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP
  • Cisco and Palo Alto IPSEC/SSL VPN
  • Microsoft Visio
  • Windows and Linux server administration
  • Citrix NetScaler and GSLB management and configuration
  • Experience with a scripting language such as Perl / PowerShell / Python a plus
  • NetScout, Network General Infinistream, Solarwinds Orion experience a plus
  • Cisco VoIP experience a plus
